North Wollongong Beach

About North Wollongong Beach

Wollongong’s bustling North Beach is a short walk from Wollongong’s scenic harbour and is surrounded by cafes to satisfy your hunger or thirst. This peaceful beachcomber spot has been home-away from home for generations who also appreciate its lovely views!

North Wollongong Beach is one of Australia’s best beaches. It lies 1.2 miles (2 kilometres) northeast of the city centre and can easily be reached by bus, bike or on foot, with free parking available near surf clubs and picnic areas where showers are also provided in case you get too wet after playing in the water!
The lifeguards patrol this beautiful stretch every day during warmer months so that we may all have fun without fear for our safety.

What to do at North Wollongong Beach

North Wollongong Beach is a great spot for families to spend time in the sun. The beach has rock pools, wading areas and excellent surf that’s perfect if you’re looking to get your adrenaline pumping! There are plenty of grassy picnic booths with shade available as well; plus, children will love playing near Stuart Park while adults enjoy some food from one of those cafes or shops around there, too – not mention free parking right next door.

The ideal date spot for families, North Wollongong Beach, provides a picturesque view of crashing waves and bluffs that flank its shoreline. Standout features at this beautiful beach include the dependable surf break, which rolls into land every time there’s an incoming tide or sunset; swim in guarded waters with lifeguards watching over you as well! For those who want more adventure but don’t know how to handle themselves out on open water just yet- take up surfing instead: find your perfect spot amongst these stunning rocks.

North Wollongong Beach hosts the NSW leg of an annual event that includes fireworks and netball games. The beach is perfect for watching New Year’s Eve Fireworks from its stunning views!
